New President Of Zambia: Latest In Current Affairs

Senior opposition leader Hakande Hichilema has won the presidential election in Zambia, a country in southern Africa. Esau Chulu, the Chairman of Zambia‘s Central Election Commission, has announced Hakainde Hichilema’s win. Hakande Hichilema, a businessman, was contesting for the presidency for the sixth time. He received 28 lakh votes, compared to 18 lakh for incumbent President Edgar Lungu. Edgar Lungu has been the president of Zambia for six years and has been accused of human rights violations and corruption. Hichilema’s political party is known as the United Party for National Development.

Handloom Design Resource Center: Gk Current Affairs 2021
