RBI’s G-SAP Program: Important Current Affairs Of Today

With the G-SAP package, the RBI has given individuals and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) more time to repay their loans. It required banks to lend to the development of vaccine manufacturing companies, hospitals, and laboratories under the priority field. Under the Government Securities Acquisition Program(G-SAP), RBI Governor Shaktikant Das said the government would buy government securities worth Rs 35,000 crore in two weeks. Only those who have not used the loan recovery option are eligible for the facility, which is now available for a two-year term. According to the Indian Banks Association, 90% of borrowers would be eligible.

Maharashtra Law On 50% Quota to Marathas: Free Current Affairs

The Maharashtra government passed a law that gave Marathas extra rights in education and jobs, but the Supreme Court rejected it. According to the law, it is unconstitutional and violates the right to equality. In 1992, the Supreme Court ruled that reservations could not exceed 50%. A request to have this restriction reconsidered by a larger constitutional tribunal was also rejected by the Supreme Court. The petitioners’ key complaint is that the reservation for Marathas reaches 50% with a special quota. In Maharashtra, the previous BJP government passed the Reservation Act for Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC), which provided for a 16 percent special reservation.
